Helen Skelton picks hit song for Strictly Come Dancing’s next live show

Helen Skelton has picked a hit song for her next Strictly live show.

The Countryfile star and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez will be performing a salsa to Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber.

The song has just over seven billion views on YouTube and held the number one spot in the UK charts for over 11 weeks in 2017.

Helen and Gorka are now one of only nine couples remaining and have one more week to get through before they can dance across Blackpool Tower’s ballroom floor.

Last week, the couple blew the judges away with their jive, which saw them scoop their first 10 score.

Judge Motsi Mabuse said: “Last week I said you gave off final vibes. today, you made a statement that you are going to be in the final. It was magnificent. That was fantastic.”

Following their victory, the pair took to Instagram to share their excitement post-dance and Helen said she was ‘buzzing’ after getting a total score of 37 – their highest of the series.

On Twitter, Helen said: “Thank you…so grateful for your messages and for keeping us in another week. Loved that jive, grateful for another week.”

Following fellow dancer Ellie Simmonds’ departure from the show last week, Helen and Gorka said in an Instagram video that they were emotional after seeing Ellie leave.

Helen said that it was clear ‘nobody was safe’ and that they were grateful for the public voting to keep the duo dancing.

The pair were also spotted recently in Penrith, chatting with residents and taking photos with fans.
