Workington Town have continued to build their squad by raiding the amateur scene again.
It will be brothers in arms next season in League Two for the Kells’ pair, Jordan Burns and Aaron Burns.
They were members of the successful Kells squad which won the National Conference Division One title last season.
Jordan played for Whitehaven for seven years then returned three years ago to his former amateur club Kells.
He was named NCL Division 1 Player of the Year last season and in his time as a pro played over 100 games for Whitehaven.
He had a fine strike rate, too, of a try every two games during his time at the Recreation Ground.
He can play centre or full-back while younger brother Aaron is an England Community Lions winger with a growing reputation in the game.
The two signings take Anthony Murray’s squad up to 21 with more announcements expected later in the week.
Over the week-end at a club open day Town announced the signing of Ghanian International centre Sean Sabutey who has been playing in Australia.
Also joining Murray’s squad are ex-North Wales Crusaders and Rochdale winger/centre Earl Hurst.

The big local signing for the club is the Seaton Rangers forward JJ Key who has just completed an outstanding season for Seaton Rangers in the National Conference.
Highly thought of previously with Penrith rugby union club he is the grandson of a famous Town star of the 1950’s Andy Key.
One club man Andy played 128 games for Town and three for Cumberland between 1951 and 1958.
His final game for Town was at Wembley in the 1958 Challenge Cup final when he was injured – and tragically that halted his career.
Also joining the Derwent Park club is young utility player Fergus Simpson, who can operate at full-back, scrum-half and hooker.
He played for West Wales Raiders last season to gain experience and he is a player that Murray believes he can develop.
