A woman is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in Workington.
Police were called to Honister Drive at around 3.30pm yesterday, November 17, after the incident which involved a car and a female pedestrian.
The woman, in her 40s, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. Her condition is described as critical but stable.
Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were assisted by the Great North Air Ambulance’s critical care team.
The driver of the vehicle, a local man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence. He has been released under police bail.
The road was closed for a number of hours while investigations took place.
