VIDEO: Helen Skelton’s jaw dropping routine on Strictly Come Dancing

It was a make or break week on Strictly Come Dancing – and Cumbria’s Helen Skelton pulled out all the stops.

The quarter finals this series was musicals week and the stars put on the glitz for some glamorous performances.

Packed with attitude, Helen and Gorka performed their Couple’s Choice to Mein Herr from Cabaret – and it was a show-stopping treat for fans.

It showed off Helen’s development on the dancefloor – from an almost shy Helen in week one to a sassy dancer who knows her stuff.

Their costumes were spectacular – with Gorka in a corset – and towards the end of the dance, Helen looked at the camera and mouthed along to the lyrics ‘You’re better off without me!’

Shirley and Motsi – who have been rooting for Helen since that first week – thought she was amazing, as did Anton, who said he felt emotional watching her dance. Craig, as usual, critiqued her technique – saying she should have used her centre more – but the crowd and Gorka were having none of it.

They scored three 10s and a nine – topping the leaderboard with their second 39 of the series – jointly with Will Mellor and Nancy Xu.
