A man has been arrested after an assault and attempted robbery in Maryport on Monday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at around 5.25pm on Curzon Street on the bridge over the railway line.
A man in his 30s wearing a Puffa-style coat, shorts and a cap has assaulted a 19-year-old man, causing swelling to their face, and attempted to rob a 19-year-old woman.
He was arrested soon afterwards and is currently under investigation. Any witnesses are urged to come forward and contact the police.
