Two women have been seriously injured following a collision in West Cumbria in the early hours.
Police were called at about 3.10am to the road between Broughton Moor and Little Broughton.
Police, the ambulance service and four fire engines attended the collision, which involved one vehicle.
Four people were travelling in the vehicle.
Two men, one in their 50s the other in their 60s, suffered injuries described as minor. Two women, one in their 50s the other in their 60s suffered serious injuries.
They were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
The road was closed while enquiries took place and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
