Free festive fun will be on offer in Barrow’s town centre this weekend.
Curling, children’s Christmas workshops, music and entertainment will all be happening on Saturday, thanks to town traders and Barrow BID.
A 10m curling rink will be set up on Dalton Road, next to Furness Railway where people can try their hand at the Winter Olympic sport for free, guided by a team of experts from 10am till 4pm.
Also on Dalton Road, Cumbria Sewing and Craft Centre is offering Christmas workshops for children. No booking is required, and people can drop in from 11am onwards.
Outside The Entertainer, there will be a testing event of the top toys of 2022. Running from 10am, there will also be a special guest appearance from JJ from Cocomelon. JJ will be appearing for 15 minute intervals every hour at 10am, 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Allan Kerr, BID director, said: “With the big day quickly approaching, what better reason to visit our town centre this weekend than to have some festive family fun while you sort out your Christmas shopping?”
John Edwards, manager of The Entertainer, added: “It’s great to be able to work with Barrow BID to be able to deliver our toy testing event this weekend. The Entertainer really believes in supporting our towns and our high streets, so we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of their event.
“I’m really pleased that we have managed to secure our VIP, JJ from Cocomelon to come along too.”
