Helen Skelton needs Cumbria’s help to win Strictly Come Dancing and take home the glitterball trophy.

The Countryfile star is facing stiff competition from Molly Rainford, Fleur East and in particular, Hamza Yassin, in the finale of the dance competition.

According to The Strictly Spoiler, a website that provides super fans with the inside scoop on the show, Helen is neck and neck with Hamza as the favourite to win the competition.

The site is running a vote for fans to choose which couple they would like to see win, with Hamza currently securing 40.89 per cent of votes and Helen scooping 39.01 per cent.

The star celebrated her final day of rehearsals this week ahead of the show’s grand finale, which will take place this Saturday December 17 at 7.05pm. The show will last over two hours and end at 9.35pm.

In an Instagram clip, Gorka shared a video of the duo in their rehearsal room playing an acoustic version of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing in the background.

Talking to Helen, Gorka said: “One more show, let’s do this team! We can do this together. We can do it.” The pair added that they felt both happy and sad the competition is coming to a close but that they are still excited for the weekend.

In the finale, each couple will be tasked to perform three dances before the public decides who wins. These include a dance chosen by the judges for the duos, each couples’ favourite dance from the show and a show dance.

Helen will be dancing a jive to Tightrope by Janelle Monáe for her judges’ choice, a couple’s choice to Mein Herr by Liza Minnelli from Cabaret for her favourite dance and for her show dance, she will be dancing to Shine by Emeli Sandé.

Speaking about getting through to the final, Helen said she was overwhelmed, not just by the votes from the public keeping them in, but the messages the pair had received. She added: “If anyone has taken one moment of our joy from any of our dances, then we’ve done our jobs.”

To be in for a shot at lifting the Glitterball trophy, Helen will need all the votes she can get from Cumbria this Saturday night.

To vote for Helen and Gorka this week, when the vote opens, shimmy over to the Strictly homepage. The vote can be found at the top of the page.

Fans can also vote online at www.bbc.co.uk/strictly or by scanning the QR code displayed on screen during the show with all the other voting information. The QR code can be scanned by mobile, tablet or computer.

For those who don’t want to vote online, voting by phone is still available. The phone numbers will be given out in the show and be made available on the Strictly homepage whilst the vote is open. Fans only half 30 minutes to cast their vote before the voting lines close.
