A man has admitted assaulting his partner and damaging property at her Carlisle home.
Callum Goodison, 25, had initially been charged with assaulting the woman, causing her actual bodily harm, following an incident on September 11 last year.
Goodison appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today when he pleaded guilty to a lesser alternative charge of common assault.
This was accepted by the prosecution as the defendant was already subject to a suspended prison sentence which could now be activated in view of several breaches.
In addition, Goodison admitted damaging property belonging to the woman on the same date. This was a mirror and internal door.
Judge Nicholas Barker adjourned the case. Goodison, previously of Carlisle and latterly of Jesmond Gardens in Hartlepool, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced for his offending at the crown court on a date to be fixed.
