Copeland’s farming community is invited to a series of drop-in sessions being held by the area’s MP.

Trudy Harrison, a Defra minister, will share information and updates from the sector. The gatherings will also give the opportunity for farmers to share ideas and suggestions with Mrs Harrison and one another.

The gatherings will be held on the following dates:

  • Friday, January 27 in Lamplugh
  • Friday, February 10 in Bootle
  • Friday, February 24 in Keswick
  • Friday, March 10 in Gosforth

All begin at 7.30pm and include a pie and pea supper.

Mrs Harrison said: “I am very much looking forward to these events, which will give me a chance to share updates with our farming community, and to listen to what they have to say.

“Farming is the backbone of so many of our communities and there is no industry like farming for the level of passion, experience and knowledge that exists that has, in many cases, been passed down through generations.”

Those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP to [email protected] or 01229 718333, indicating which event they would like to attend.
