
Emergency services were called to a collision in Carlisle on Saturday.
The incident happened after 6pm on Saturday at Wigton Road and the road was closed while the scene was made safe.
Firefighters were called at around 6.30pm to the two-vehicle collision. One person was trapped. Two fire engines attended.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Fire crew used small tools to release the casualty and environmental protection equipment to make the scene safe. The casualty was handed over to the care of North West Ambulance Service. Crews were detained for an hour.”
