Kendal Town brought home a point from their trip to Manchester to take on Prestwich Heys in the NW Counties Premier Division.
It finished 1-1 and that was a fair reflection on the game in which the Mintcakes fell behind but battled back to earn a point in the second-half.
In an even first-half Kendal had the best chance when Steve Yawson was able to get round the home keeper but just ran out of pitch as he tried to turn the ball home from a tight angle.
The opening goal came on 32 minutes when a shot from outside the area cannoned off the chest of goalkeeper Danny Roccia and Tyler James followed up to drive home.
Kendal certainly edged the second-half and were almost level on 52 minutes when Tom Kilifin hit the post and home keeper Jordan Hadlow made a good block as Ryan Winder followed up.
The equaliser came three minutes later and Hadlow, the hero just before, became the villain as he let a shot from Joseph Dickson squirm through his hands to cross the line.
Kendal had a good chancw to win it after 75 minutes when Yawson broke clear and played in Finlay Lynch but he didn’t connect properly with his shot and it didn’t trouble Hadlow.
Obua Magalula who has just joined from Workington on dual registration was given the last 18 minutes and could have won it late on but blazed over from a good position.
Kendal take a break from League football on Saturday when they entertain Appleby in the Westmorland County Cup.
Then on Tuesday they must travel to New Mills in the Macron Cup because the tie has twice been postponed at Parkside Road.
