Work on Kendal flood defences are set to restart next week.
A new drainage system will be created from Hillside to North Road.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday and is estimated to last around 16 weeks.
Traffic management and the closure of North Road will be required for the work, but Cumbria County Council said its contractor, JN Bentley Ltd, will minimise disruption by closing parts of North Road in short sections and allowing normal access wherever possible throughout the closure period.
Cumbria County Council said it thanked the community for their continued support and patience while these flood alleviation improvements are made and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
