Simon Rogan’s apprenticeship programme has been nominated for a national award.

The Simon Rogan Academy, which is run with Kendal College, was created in 2021. The 18-month programme sees students work in the Michelin starred chef’s restaurants in the Lake District.

It has been shortlisted for a Springboard Award for Excellence 2023, in the Best Training Programme category.

The annual Springboard Awards for Excellence are designed as a celebration of hospitality’s finest individuals and businesses.

Marcin Maryniak, Simon Rogan Restaurant Group’s head of HR and recruitment, said: ‘’We launched the Simon Rogan Academy to be able to provide passionate individuals serious about developing their careers in hospitality with an opportunity to learn from one of the world’s leading restaurant teams.

“Being shortlisted is testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of our team and the culinary team from Kendal College, who have between them made the project such a success, and for that I’d like to thank each and every one of them.’’
