People are being urged to keep their doors and windows locked overnight after a burglary in Cockermouth.
Thieves managed to get into a home on Parklands in the early hours of Tuesday because a back door was not locked.
Officers have asked anyone in the town who may have seen anyone trying to get into gardens or houses in the early hours, to come forward.
A spokesman added: “We would also like anyone who has CCTV or doorbell cameras in this area to check it for any suspicious activity it may have captured. We would also like to remind people to keep your doors and windows locked overnight.”
