Whitehaven Rugby League have announced a unique opportunity for fans to purchase shares in the club.
As part of a sustainability strategy, the board of directors have agreed to offer supporters the chance to buy shares in the club in £100 stages. An £100 investment equals 20 shares, £200, 40 shares and £300, 60 shares for example.
A statement said: “By purchasing shares, fans are not only adding much needed funds into the club, but they will also have a say and vote at the club’s shareholder AGM.
“This is a limited time offer and further share purchase schemes are not guaranteed. There is also a limit to the amount of shares the club can issue so we ask supporters who are interested to register their interest early.”
Prizes are on offer as a thank you to anyone who buys shares in the club, including two tickets to the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, including train and a night’s hotel stay in London; two directors’ lounge tickets to the Summer Bash at York, Including travel on the team bus and two Grand Final tickets, including a night’s hotel stay in Manchester.
For every £100 of shares bought, one raffle ticket will be issued. Details of the draw will be published in due course, the club said.
