The finalists have been revealed for the North West Family Business Awards – and dozens of Cumbrian firms have made the shortlist.
Organised by The Family Business Community, the awards champion family firms from across the region, recognising their achievements and celebrating their successes in style.
Sue Howorth, co-founder of The Family Business Community said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the sheer volume of outstanding award entries that came our way, our judges were presented with some of the most inspiring and impressive submissions imaginable, making for a truly challenging selection process.
“Our finalists should feel incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment, and creativity which have taken them to the shortlist. In addition, we are looking forward to revealing our agri-business finalists in the next few weeks, kindly sponsored by H&H Group.”
Dave Clarkson, co-founder of The Family Business Community added: “The judges had an awe-inspiring task of selecting the finest entries, and we know it must have been challenging. The individuals who made the shortlist should feel incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Their dedication, talent, and hard work have impressed us beyond measure.
Some 23 judges from across the North West chose the shortlist earlier this month and the winners will be revealed at a ceremony on May 19 in Manchester.
Among those nominated is Shed One, a small batch craft gin producer in Ulverston, which has been shortlisted for four awards. It is co-owned and run by husband-and-wife team, Andy and Zoe Arnold-Bennett.
Zoe said: “It’s quite overwhelming to be finalists in as many as four categories, which just goes to show the many facets of Shed One. We’ve developed into so much more than when we originally started as a gin producer. And of course we’re delighted the North West Family Business Awards judges have recognised this too.
“We’re a true family business in every sense and many of our loyal customers tell us they feel proud to be welcomed in as part of the Shed One family. In fact, in 2019, we received the Going Places accolade at these very awards – so, four years on, we hope to prove them right!”
The finalists will now be invited to the awards ceremony, an event which is becoming one of the most popular dates on the Business Awards calendar. The North West Family Business Award Ceremony will soar to new heights on 19th May 2023 at the unique Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester.
You don’t need to be a finalist to join the celebrations as tickets for the prestigious awards ceremony are now on sale via the North West Family Business Awards website. As well as meeting the most exceptional family businesses from across the North West, you’ll enjoy a fun and vibrant evening of entertainment and awards.
