A trail runner and her dog have been rescued after wet conditions led to a twisted ankle.
Coniston Mountain Rescue were called out to Little Arrow Moor at 10.26am this morning to a woman who could no longer bear weight on her ankle after she slipped and fell on the wet grass.
The team said conditions were very wet, with becks in spate and roads starting to flood.
The woman realised she needed help after she fell and was able to ring the police and request Mountain Rescue’s assistance.

The team dispatched two Land Rovers to the scene for a short but ‘extremely wet’ walk to the woman.
She was given painkillers for her injury, her leg splinted and she was then stretchered to waiting vehicles.
The rescuers drove her back to the team base to await a Land Ambulance from North West Ambulance Service who took her to Furness General Hospital for further treatment.
The incident involved 11 volunteers members for two hours and 30 minute.
