A popular international market is set to return to Carlisle city centre this Easter.
Organised by Market Place Europe, the award-winning International Market is supported by Carlisle City Council.
More than 40 traders will be taking part in the market, which runs from April 6 to April 10, bringing an array of global treats to the city centre from unique arts and crafts, fine foods and delis to mouth-watering street foods.
For food lovers, there will be a tempting selection of continental and international flavours to sample. On offer will be Greek gyros, Chinese, Crepes, exotic burgers and salt and pepper chicken to name but a few, and for those wanting to take the flavours of the world home with them there will be a great selection of fresh foods including olives, cheeses, salami and handmade breads and cakes baked fresh on site.
Shoppers can also browse some of the great craft stalls including handmade jewellery, Fairtrade wooden furniture and carvings, and the famous Dutch Flowers on Tour selling a huge array of shrubs, bulbs, beautiful plants and trees with some great garden ornaments.
When you’re all shopped out you can relax and unwind in a continental street bar with a variety of continental beers and wine.
Councillor Stephen Higgs, portfolio holder for culture, heritage and leisure said: “There are only a few weeks to go until the Easter International Market makes a visit to Carlisle and the countdown is underway for another great event. It’s always popular and attracts visitors from across the region. There will be lots to see and sample.”
Stalls will be open between:
- Thursday April 6: 9am – 6pm.
- Friday April 7: 9am – 6pm.
- Saturday April 8: 9am – 6pm.
- Sunday April 9: 10am – 5pm.
