Penrith face a massive game on Tuesday night after throwing away a two-goal lead at Tow Law.
Ahead 2-0 they collapsed in the last quarter of the game, conceding three times to lose the Northern League clash and remain a point short of safety.
Manager Darren Edmondson said: “It was really disappointing to lose from that position and it leaves us with a massive game on Tuesday at home to Heaton Stannington.
“We don’t want to be still looking for that point on the final day of the season against the likely League champions.
“There was nothing in the game really but we got ourselves a two goal lead. There were other opportunities for us as well which we didn’t take which has been the story of our season.
“It was a really nervy last 20 minutes and the players are hurting. But bad decisions on the ball and off the ball and it turned into a bit of chaos.
“But it’s still in our own hands which is what you want. We lost a couple through injuries yesterday and a couple are working but we do have Andy Murray-Jones back from suspension.
“We want a positive start, get the first goal and see what they’ve got in them. They have nothing to play for but it will be about how we perform.”
Luke Hunter scored twice for Penrith in the 63rd and 68th minutes to give them the advantage but Andrei Ardelean grabbed a hat-trick with goals in the 75th, 82nd and 85th minutes – the last from the penalty spot – to leave Penrith still needing one more precious point.
