Kendal Town completed their home programme in the North West Counties Premier League with a win and another encouraging crowd.
The Mintcakes beat Burscough 3-1 in front of 376 fans – a result which relegated the visitors to Division One next season.
Kendal chairman Michael O’Neill said: “I felt sorry for Burscough as they had to play at Bury on Thursday night and playing twice in 48 hours at our level isn’t easy.
“We hadn’t played since Monday and we gave a very good team performance.
“Over the last three games we had targeted 350-plus crowds and we did that which was very encouraging. Talking to people around the ground they had enjoyed the experience and that’s the sort of momentum we want to build on for next season.”
Rob Wilson had given Kendal an 18th minute lead and top scorer Tom Kilifin added the second four minutes later.
Although Xenon Bahula pulled one back on 75 minutes, Steve Yawson wrapped-up the points for Kendal with the third goal 11 minutes from time.
Kendal will complete their League programme at Ashton Athletic, who are relegated at the bottom of the table.
They then have the Westmorland County Cup final on Saturday, April 29 which is being played at their own Parkside Road ground, against Penrith reserves.
