
The family of a man who died following a collision on the A684 M6 fly-over bridge have paid tribute.
Officers were called at around 1.20pm on Tuesday, May 2, to the collision, which involved a green Peugeot 308 and a black Smart Forfour.
A passenger in the Peugeot, William McCormick, 80, known as Willie, of Warwick Close, Spennymoor, County Durham, died at the scene.
His family said: “Willie was a warm and generous man, loved by his family and friends. He is going to be missed so much.”
The driver of the green Peugeot 308, a man in his 80s, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
A woman in her 80s, a passenger in the Peugeot, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with a chest injury.
A fourth passenger, a man in his 70s, and the driver of the Smart, a man in his 70s, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
A passenger in the Smart was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
