Five-year-old boy critical after crash in Maryport

A five-year-old boy is in a critical condition after a crash in Maryport.

The incident took place at around 4.35pm on Sunday, May 7, on Ennerdale Road and involved a Black BMW and the five-year-old boy.

He was flown to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old woman from Maryport, was uninjured.

The road was closed to allow a forensic collision investigation to be carried out.
