
Police have arrested four people after a pedestrian thought they had a firearm pointed at them from a vehicle in West Cumbria.
The incident happened at around 8.50pm on May 10 in Senhouse Street, Maryport.
Police shortly afterwards stopped the vehicle on the A596 near Dunmail Park. A search of the vehicle found a water pistol wrapped in black tape.
Officers have arrested three 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm. They have been released on police bail.
A police spokesman said “We take these offences extremely seriously and swift action was taken to locate the vehicle and arrest those involved.”
