
Workington Comets’ Australian number one Connor Bailey had his best meeting yet in the Championship last night.
Bailey, who has been in red-hot form for the Comets ion the National Development League scored nine and a bonus in Redcar’s 53-37 home win against Glasgow Tigers.
Former Workington rider Charles Wright was the Bears’ top scorer with 13 and a bonus point.
Bailey won two of his four starts and also picked-up a second (for his bonus point behind Wright) and a third.
Workington team-mate Ace Pijper was at reserve for the Tigers and after two blanks picked up a second and two third places for four points.
A third Workington rider was in action last night – Sam McGurk who guested for NDL rivals Mildenhall Fen Tigers in their key clash at Belle Vue Colts.
McGurk scored five points from his four riders as the Fen Tigers went down 52-38 – collecting a third, two seconds and a blank in his final outing.
McGurk, his younger brother Harry, Pijper and Elliot Kelly will be at Northside tomorrow to contest the British Under-21s qualifier.
