Creighton celebrate progress on and off the field

Creighton captain Scott Davidson (second right) presents the Players’ player of the year award to Tom Verlaque watched by club president Ian Langley (left) and club chairman John Rogers.

There seems little doubt that Creighton are looking forward to getting back onto the rugby field for the 2023/24 season.

In Counties 1 Cumbria they were one of the most improved sides last season and are looking to build on that next time round.

It was within that backdrop that the club held its end-of-season awards dinner where the opportunity was taken to celebrate the progress made on and off the field over the past 12 months.

The club acknowledged that everything that has been achieved has been a team effort although it was felt important to recognise some outstanding individual contributions.

Awards

  • Most improved player: Christy Jensen
  • Moment of the year: The win against Wigton
  • Top try scorers: Joint winners Joe O’Donnell and Tom Verlaque
  • Chairman’s player of the year: Keenan Foster
  • Coach’s player of the year: Matt Liddle
  • Player’s player of the year: Tom Verlaque
