A man is set to appear at crown court next month charged with rape after an incident in Barrow.
Sadam Bahaderi, 25, of no fixed address, appeared at Barrow Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Preston Crown Court on June 27.
The charge follows an investigation into an incident reported to have occurred in the early hours of May 28 in the area of Cavendish Street
The victim, a woman in her 20s, is being supported by specialist officers, Cumbria police said.
