Workington Reds goalkeeper Jim Atkinson is staying at the club for the 2023/24 season.
The keeper with the widest range of passing ability in the lower leagues is key to how Danny Grainger wants to play his football.
“I’m over the moon that Jim is staying with us next season,” said Grainger.
Atkinson, who was one of Grainger’s first signings when he first took over as manager four years ago, said: “I’m delighted to sign on for another year, and it’s great to see so many of last year’s successful squad here too.
“It will be time to push on and show how good we are next season against better opposition.”
Reds now know where they stand with the vast majority of last season’s squad, although Matty Clarke, Ruben Jerome, Ben Hughes and Charlie Birch won’t be back.
