Second series of T20 matches set to be staged this week

The second series of matches in the Cumbria League’s weekly T20 competition will be staged tonight and Friday.

The North section will be having the first game after a blank opening week, with Keswick due to host Wigton tomorrow night.

The two met in a Premier Division game on Saturday and Wigton scored their first win of the season, getting the job done with three wickets to spare.

It’s been a poor start to the season for Keswick – largely recognised as a top four side – but who now find themselves next to bottom with only Wigton below them.

There are no games in the West section which got underway with Egremont beating Whitehaven by five wickets while Workington defeated Cleator by 97 runs.

There are two more games in the South section after last week’s victories for Dalton (beating Millom by four runs) and Lindal Moor defeating Haverigg by five wickets.

That was a fine result by First Division leaders Dalton who will be trying to follow-up on Friday at Haverigg.

Millom will have been embarrassed after that defeat by First Division opposition but have a stiff task tonight to make amends when they visit  holders Furness.
