An internet sensation known as the Carnivore King has visited a Lake District butchers.

Shawn Baker visited Roast Mutton in Kendal to stock up on meat and chat with owner Rob Unwin.

Shawn has amassed millions of views and over 270,000 followers by sharing the ins and outs of his carnivore diet online – where he only eats red meat, poultry, fish, eggs and organ meats.

He has also been interviewed on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast and has written a cookbook called Carnivore Diet.

During Shawn’s visit to the Kendal butchers, Rob demonstrated butchery techniques and served him up some beef ribs.

Rob said: ‘’It was a real honour for me to have Shawn in the shop, spend time showing him how we operate, discussing aspects of butchery and nutrition and cooking some Spital Farm reared beef for him to try. I’ve followed Shawn for years and as far as I’m concerned he’s amazing.”

Shawn first turned to the diet seven years ago when he began experiencing health issues.

He has claimed his diet has led to significant improvements in his health.
