A man has been arrested after a 15-year-old was seriously injured jumping from a moving vehicle at Appleby Horse Fair.
Police investigating the incident in which the teenager was airlifted to hospital on Friday June 9 arrested a man yesterday, Sunday June 11, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The arrest was part of effort by police to establish the full circumstances of how the 15-year-old came to be injured.
The arrested man has since been released under investigation whilst officers continue with their enquiries.
The 15-year-old remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Cumbria police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed what occurred and has yet to come forward to do so.
