Kendal Town striker Tom Kilifin, the NW Counties Premier Division’s top scorer last season, is leaving the Mintcake to join Bury FC.
Kilifin, 30, who scored 33 goals in 44 games for Kendal, is a high profile departure from Jimmy Marshall’s after the best season of his career.
Always regarded as a talented footballer Lancaster-born Kilifin has spent most of his career in different spells with Kendal or Lancaster, and did spent brief time with Workington and Northwich Victoria.
Bury FC is fan-owned and are looking for a big season in 2023/24 with the announcement that they are going back to play their home games at Gigg Lane – the previous home of the former Football League side Bury.

At Gigg Lane, Kilifin will be joining Andy Welsh, the Bury FC manager since 2020, who is a former Carlisle United player. Welsh turned out 33 times for the Blues between 2011 and 2013.
He had started his career with Stockport County and in a 14-year career, before joining FC United of Manchester in non-league, played for the likes of Blackpool, Yeovil, Sunderland and Scunthorpe.
