Three extra teams have joined the Cumberland County League for the 2023/24 season.

They were admitted at the league’s annual meeting which was held at the offices of the Cumberland FA on Thursday.

There were no resignations from last season with three teams applying for membership – Dearham, Keswick and Mirehouse – when all three applicants were accepted unanimously.

Prior to the start of the meeting, a minute’s silence was held in respect of the league’s chairman Fred Conway who died in November

The management committee proposal to restructure the league into two divisions, consisting of nine teams in each, was also accepted, with the three new teams being placed into Division 1.

There was also two additions to the management committee structure, Tony Whitfield and Ron Caffrey.
