Jordan Tweddle

A Cumbrian actor will appear in Coronation Street next week – playing the old flame of a major character.

Jordan Tweddle, originally from Wigton, is playing Zac Mayers in the Street and makes his first appearance on Monday.

Zac is the former boyfriend of Paul Foreman and bumps into him in a hotel bar – but things don’t work out quite as they should for the pair.

The award-winning actor said: “On my first day I was honestly so nervous. But the entire cast and crew of Coronation Street are lovely; they very quickly made me feel welcome and at ease.

“Peter Ash, who plays Paul Foreman was brilliant to work with; I feel honoured to play a small part in his vitally important MND storyline, which he is telling beautifully.”

Jordan, a former pupil of Nelson Thomlinson School, studied at the Manchester School of Theatre and since graduating he has worked consistently in television, film and theatre.

Other Cumbrians have played roles in the popular ITV soap over the years – here’s the ones we could find!
