A Cumbrian woman has gone viral on TikTok after posting a frantic video claiming her dog was locked in a Costa.

Grange-over-Sands TikToker @Elsalioncub filmed her American bulldog looking very happy inside the town’s coffee shop whilst panicking about how she could free the animal.

It has since been shared all over social media and has amassed over 4.9 million views, 400,000 likes and 40,000 shares.

During the video, the woman tries the door handle to no avail whilst saying: “Oh my god it’s closed, my dog’s locked in Costa, what shall I do?”

She also enlists the help of a confused passer-by as she knocks on the door, shouting and asking for her dog back.

@elsalioncub Me dogs locked in costa! ????????????☕️???? #fypシ #costa #closed #lockedin #dog #funnydog #elsalioncub #americanbulldog #dogsoftiktok #doglife #uk #foryou ♬ original sound – Elsalioncub ????????????????????

The woman then goes on to debate whether or not to leave the dog – named Elsa – in the store, before the passer-by suggests knocking on a window instead.

She claims: “They’re not letting my dog out, I think they’re trying to take her.” Before banging on the glass door and shouting: “Let my dog out, I want my dog back, ey, give us me dog back.”

As the drama goes on Elsa appears to remain completely relaxed – tail wagging and eyes fixed on her owner.

The comments on the video were awash with people claiming the woman’s voice sounded ‘mind-blowingly’ similar to Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker – which led to a field day for fans joking and sharing the post on Twitter.

Some even went as far as to joke that ‘Jodie Whittaker’s dog’ would appear in the next season of the show.

Others likened it to another viral video known as ‘I’m in me mum’s car’ that was posted by Tish Simmons in 2014 to Vine, a former video sharing platform.

Another user claimed it was the ‘most exciting thing’ to happen in Grange-over-Sands all year.

The TikToker is yet to post an update detailing how Elsa was finally freed from the Costa.
