Friday night action in the Cumbria League’s T20 competition was prevented by rain across the county.

Two games each in the north, two in the west and one in the south were all abandoned.

But Dalton and Lindal Moor were able to fit in their fixture in the south as they played on Thursday.

Hosts Dalton won the toss and elected to bat first but it was Lindal Moor who emerged as the winners by five wickets.

In their 20 overs Dalton reached 114-8 with Joe Braund-Smith, coming in at number six, top-scoring with 22.

Four other batsmen got into the teens headed by Hadley Tunstall (18) and Rob James (17).

Brad Stephens (2-25) and Aseem Whadwa (2-28) were the leading wicket-takers for Lindal.

Wadhwa (23 off 14) and Stephens (22) got Lindal moving before wicket-keeper Abe Brown (33no off 26) saw them over the line.

They reached 117-5 with one over to spare and Patrick McCormack (2-24 off four overs) was the most successful Dalton bowler.

It leaves the South table – Furness played 4, points 6; Lindal Moor 4, 5; Millom 4, 4; Haverigg 4, 3; Dalton 4, 2.
