Workington Comets’ number one Connor Bailey has joined Belle Vue to take their Rising Star position.
Bailey, who held the No.8 berth with the Aces last season, will make his official debut in Monday’s Sports Insure Premiership match at Wolverhampton.
He said: “It is unfortunate circumstances how this opportunity has come about, but I must take it. This is a huge chance for me and one I am very much looking forward to.
“For me, this is very much a learning process. I’ve never competed at this level before, but I’ve seen a lot of the Premiership tracks and I feel very comfortable at the National Speedway Stadium.
“I’m looking at it as I do my Championship meetings. My first goal is to beat my equivalent on the opposing team, so their Rising Star, and anything else would be a bonus.”
Bailey rides in the Championship for Redcar Bears and regularly top scores for the Comets in the National Development League. He scored 12 for Workington yesterday in their 53-37 KPO Cup defeat by Leicester Lion Cubs.
