Kells felt hard done to after their 14-12 defeat at Lock Lane which left them just above the drop zone in the National Conference Premier Division.
They appeared to have scored a winning try in the corner with three minutes left but to their amazement had it disallowed.
Angry coach Peter Smith said: “Despite the fact that the touch judge was right on the spot the referee apparently told the lads he had gone off the touch judge on the far side of the field.
“Now what he had seen I was unable to find out as the officials did not come into the clubhouse after the game. There was just nothing wrong with the score and we felt robbed.”
Kells had taken the lead with a try on 14 minutes from Keelan Parr which was converted by Ross Gainford, but by half-time they trailed 14-6.
The Castleford side came back to lead with three tries (two of them in the last four minutes of the half) and one conversion.

Kells had closed the gap on 64 minutes with a try from Lewis Smith, converted by Gainford, and then felt they had won it late on.
Wath Brow are now only a point behind leaders Hunslet ARLFC after a convincing 48-10 to win over Thatto Heath Crusaders. They closed the gap on the Hunslet side as they went down 20-4 at third-placed West Hull.
It sets up a hugely important clash this weekend when Wath Brow travel to West Hull.
The Hornets had won 36-4 in St Helens and were well on the way to the double by half-time when they held a 24-6 lead – neatly doubling their score in the second-half.
Five tries came in the first half from Jake Moore (2), Greg Howland, Nathan Lucock and Ellison Holgate. Moore converted two of them.
In the second-half Holgate completed his hat-trick with two more touchdowns while Sam Curwen and Connor Molyneux also crossed. All four were converted by Moore.

Egremont Rangers consolidated second place in Division One when they completed a high-scoring double over Ince Rose Bridge. Having won 58-6 in Wigan, the Rangers were 40-18 winners at Gillfoot.
The Bridge had actually scored first but Egremont were 20-12 up at half-time and consolidated in the second period to win comfortably.
Mitch Edwards (2), Fraser McNee (2), Nathan Preston, Matt Bewsher, Sam Appleby and Paul Corkhill were the Egremont try scorers with Kris Tyson landing four goals.
Barrow Island produced the performance of the day as far as Division Two was concerned. They travelled to third-placed Shaw Cross Sharks with only three subs and returned home with a fine 19-12 victory.

It was especially rewarding as they had been well beaten 38-6 at home by the Sharks earlier in the season.
The Islanders had led 10-6 at half-time with tries from Fin Dutton-Rosconie and Josh McBain, one of which was converted by Dutton-Rosconie.
Early in the second-half the Sharks had scored a second converted try to lead and it looked as though they would go on to win.
But the south Cumbrians had other ideas and a Dutton-Rosconie penalty brought them level. In the last five minutes Carl McBain got over for a try, converted by Dutton-Rosconie and for insurance Dec Baines put over a field goal.

In the Third Division the big story of the afternoon was Fuifui Moimoi’s inclusion in the Millom squad at home to Leigh East. The Tonga/New Zealand veteran started on the bench with his two nephews in the starting line-up and they won a key top four game 18-16.
Moimoi played two 15 minute stints for Millom, one in each half and his inclusion lifted the crowd to well over 500.
One Millom regular said: “His presence certainly created a great atmosphere and the clubhouse was crowded afterwards. I certainly hope he’s going to play for us again.”
It had been equally close in the game at Leigh East which Millom had lost 22-20 as they held a 6-4 lead at the break and each side scored 12 points in the second half.
Jackson Evans and Kyle Evans scored tries, converted by Lee Postlethwaite to increase the Millom lead to 12-4 and although the visitors closed the gap a try from Rio McQuistan, converted by Postlethwaite, proved crucial. It meant Leigh East’s last converted try only pulled them to within two points.
It means Millom are only two points behind third-placed Leigh East with two games in hand while ahead of them Oldham St. Annes and Ellenborough are only separated by points differential.
In actual fact both the leaders won by 36 points for as Oldham St. Annes were beating Eastmoor Dragons 54-18, Elbra were winning 42-6 at Beverley.
First-half tries from Zac Olstrum and Owen Hoyles, both converted by Hoyles, put Elbra into a 12-6 lead by half-time.
But they swept clear in the second-half, scoring 30 unanswered points from tries by John Todd, Jordan Ostle, Ben Robinson, Olstrum and Kai Gulhespy. Hoyles converted them all for a seven-goal haul.
Not so successful were Cumbria’s bottom two sides, although Seaton Rangers put up a good fight against Bentley before going down 16-14.
It was a really entertaining, close, tough, physical match, and the rain held off except for ten minutes of drizzle at the end.
It was 16-10 at half-time to Bentley with Mark Surtees and Todd Wilkinson scoring tries for Seaton, one of them converted by Dom Smallwood.
The second half was all Seaton, but the home side had three tries chalked off by referee Aaron Giles and their only score came late on. Lewis Mason got in for a try but Smallwood’s conversion attempt missed by inches.
Hensingham stay next to bottom, just two points better off than Seaton after they went down 36-16 at Drighlington.
Dan McGarry was the match star for the Cumbrians with a hat-trick of tries and there was a conversion apiece for John Carrick and Dane Richardson.
In a feisty conclusion Hensingham had Noel Branthwaite sent off for alleged stamping while the hosts had a red card to one of their players for alleged punching.
