Robert Smithson from Colliers Hotel Agency team added: “The popularity of Plato’s and the setting in an impressive tourist location resulted in interest from a variety of potential purchasers.

“We’re pleased that the new owners are looking to continue the venue’s tenure as a hotel and bar as it is really part of the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale.
“Its impressive range of facilities means it is undoubtedly set to continue attracting trade and go from strength to strength.
“There remains a strong interest in hospitality properties not just from those looking to enter the industry, and expanding hotel groups but also from developers looking for opportunities to repurpose buildings in good locations for alternative uses.”
