Another poor forecast for the weekend has convinced the two local federations to bring their races forward.
Both the Derwent Valley Federation and the West Cumberland Federation will mark birds on Thursday and hopefully race on Friday afternoon.
The Derwent Valley Federation will be racing from Charnock Richard and the West Cumberland Federation go on to Appleton for theirs.
The two Federation will link up for the first time on August 12 when the birds will be liberated together from Appleton.
After a glorious start – weather wise – to the old bird season, the young bird season has been plagued by bad weather for weekend racing and liberations have been on different days of the week.
