Cleator Moor Celtic have retained the West Cumbria Veterans League title, going through the ten-match programme with a 100% record.
They have been presented with the Championship trophy after a 3-2 win over St Benedict’s to earn them a place in the League Cup semi-final.
That win avenged their only defeat of the season, back in June when they lost 4-2 to St Benedict’s in the County Cup, subsequently won yet again by Harraby Catholic Club.
Celtic will play their League Cup semi-final on Monday against Seaton.
Elwyn Evans was there for the trophy presentation in which Celtic skipper Gary George received the Cup on behalf his the team. The whole squad are also pictured.
The final table was: Cleator Moor Celtic 30, Maryport Athletic 21, Senhouse Street 21, St. Benedict’s 20, Seaton 16, Thornhill Bulls 15, Aspatria 12, Borough 8, Moor Row 7, Cockermouth 5, Flimby Social 3.
