Two new community beat officers have joined Workington’s neighbourhood policing team.

PC Sarah Parkinson started on July 28 and is the dedicated officer for Workington north, which includes areas such as Northside, Seaton, Stainburn and Great Clifton.

PC Callum Lofthouse started on August 8 and is the dedicated officer for Workington south, which includes areas such as Moorclose, Salterbeck, Westfield and Harrington.

PC Parkinson and PC Lofthouse join community beat officer PC Catherine Higson who covers Workington town centre and the wider neighbourhood policing team.

PC Parkinson has already made two arrests in Workington, following a report of theft. Both suspects have been released on bail.

Inspector Pete Aiston, of Allerdale Neighbourhood policing team, said: “We are glad to introduce two new community beat officers to the area to help us understand issues and to detect and prevent crime.

“Both will be out in the community over the coming weeks meeting residents and local business owners.”
