A new opening date for Workington’s TK Maxx store has been revealed.
It was previously thought the chain would open its doors in the former Debenhams store this month, but it has been confirmed it will now be October.
The fashion and homeware retailer lodged planning applications with Cumberland Council in April for advertising signs and work has been ongoing to transform part of the building.
The firm will take over 22,500sq ft of the building. It is not known what will happen with the rest of the store.
A TK Maxx spokesman said: “We’ve been working round the clock to secure a fabulous new location in the heart of Workington as we know how much our customers value a great deal and love to hunt for shopping treasure in our stores. We can’t say much more yet.”
