Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger is expecting a reaction from his players tonight after Saturday’s 6-1 defeat at Ilkeston.
Grainger said the last 20 minutes in particular against the Robins were unacceptable and he is looking for his team to respond tonight when they entertain Radcliffe (ko 7.45pm).
He said: “We will be on the front foot to get at them and I am looking for the players to respond after Saturday’s defeat.
“I am actively trying to add to the squad and there is a possibility that I might be able to get someone in for tonight.
“It is going to be tough because in my eyes Radcliffe are title favourites – certainly anyone who finished above them will win the League. They have experience in the team, experience in the dug out and joint managers who know what it takes to get a winning team.
“But I expect us to get at them, give them plenty to think about, and play on the front foot.
“We do have injury issues after Saturday but I will still be expecting to win with the team I put out.
“I know how important our fans are to the team and we will certainly be looking for plenty of support from the terraces tonight.”
Reds had opened the season with a 5-0 home win over Ashton United but since then have slumped to away defeats at Morpeth (3-0) and Ilkeston (6-1).
They are also at home to Stafford Rangers on Saturday before travelling to Bamber Bridge on Bank Holiday Monday.
