A Cumbrian pub has gone on the market for over £350,000.

Over 400 years old, The Kings Arms in Temple Sowerby once hosted William Wordsworth and Samuel Coleridge in 1799.

The Grade II-listed property has now been put up for sale by its owners with specialists Christie & Co.

The inn has been owned and operated by Paul Bonsall for the past 15 years with a silent partner.

The business has been refurbished over the years and has nine en suite letting rooms over three floors.

Paul said: “I have owned and operated the Kings Arms under management as a sister hotel to our other property in the south of the county, which I still manage personally.

“I am now well past retirement age and facing a few health issues, so have decided it is time to begin winding down my business activities.”

Marslie McGregor, business Agent at Christie & Co who is handling the sale, added: “We are delighted to offer the freehold sale of this historic country inn.

“The Kings Arms has established a strong reputation with both its loyal customer base and tourists to the Lake District area.”
