Two members of the Cumbria team have been selected in a 13 strong squad to represent the National Counties in the European Cricket Championship in Malaga this October.
Opening bat Freddie Fallows (Kendal) and left arm spinner Matt Siddall (Cockermouth) have been chosen.
Matches are played under the T10 format and it is the third time that the NCCA will be taking part in this event, having won in 2021 and having been beaten finalists last year losing to the Netherlands.
Altogether 31 countries will be taking part and the NCCA will once again provide the England XI.
National Counties XI will again be captained by Berkshire’s Dan Lincoln, a former professional with Middlesex, but the only other remaining players from last year are Harrison Ward and Andy Rishton. Berkshire’s Tom Lambert will again be coach.
In addition to Lincoln, the squad includes a few other players with experience with first-class counties; Oxfordshire’s Sussex batsman Harrison Ward, Dorset’s former Somerset batsman Sam Young, Oxfordshire’s former Sussex all-rounder Tom Hinley and Berkshire all-rounder Toby Greatwood, who will leave Middlesex at the end of the season.

National Counties XI: Dan Lincoln (Berkshire – captain), Harrison Ward (Oxfordshire), Sam Young (Dorset), Freddie Fallows (Cumbria), Tom Hinley (Oxfordshire), David Scott (Dorset), Andy Rishton (Berkshire), Tommy Sturgess (Cornwall), Cam Hemp (Wales NC), Matt Siddall (Cumbria), Richard Edwards (Wales NC), Conner Haddow (Buckinghamshire), Toby Greatwood (Berkshire).
