Biker in 50s dies in Kirkstone Pass crash

A biker in his 50s has died following a two-vehicle collision on Kirkstone Pass.

The collision, at around 12.20pm yesterday, Thursday, September 14, involved a van and a BMW motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for information and are asking anyone who saw a motorcyclist travelling down the A592 towards Ambleside from Kirkstone Pass at around the time of collision to come forward.

The BMW bike had distinctive metal panniers on both sides.
