No home games for Workington Reds this month

Workington Reds must go through November without playing a home game.

Danny Grainger’s men were without a fixture last Saturday and will be without one again this weekend as scheduled opponents Worksop Town are in FA Cup action at Stockport County.

Reds resume next Saturday with an NPL Premier Division fixture at Guiseley but will now lose their home fixture on November 18.

Big guns Macclesfield Town were due to visit Borough Park but they are still involved in the FA Trophy competition.

Reds have tried to bring forward a home game to fill the gap on November 18 but none were forthcoming and instead they will travel to Basford United on that date.

Back in September Reds beat Basford 5-3 at Borough Park when the visitors were struggling at the foot of the table.

Sice then they have changed managers and are currently still in the drop zone, third from bottom.

Reds will complete November with two more away games – Saturday November 25 at Whitby Town and Tuesday November 28 at Marine.

Their return to Borough Park will be on Saturday, December 2 when Hyde United travel north.

There are a number of home games set for December, including the re-arranged clash with Macclesfield on Tuesday, December 19.
