At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, a good-sized crowd gathered in their historic marketplace of the north Cumbrian market town of Brampton to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in conflict, writes Paul Grindley.

The crowd ranged in age from babies to people in their 70s and 80s as the town came together to mark the armistice.
The two-minute silence was held, and the bugler played the last post.
