Status Quo frontman Francis Rossi has postponed his Workington gig at the town’s Carnegie Theatre.
The 74-year-old was due to appear at the Finkle Street venue tomorrow, Friday November 24 – but now won’t be appearing in the town until 2025.
The theatre contacted ticket holders and posted on social media to say: “We are sorry to inform you the show has been postponed by Francis and his team.
“Francis Rossi and his team has sent the following statement which he has asked us to share with you:
“Due to circumstances beyond the promoter’s control, Francis Rossi’s sold-out show at Workington is being postponed.
“Ticket holders should retain their tickets and they will be advised of a new date very soon which will be in spring 2025. For those unable to make the new date, tickets can be refunded at the point of purchase.”
Francis said: “I’m really sorry the show’s being postponed and I’m looking forward to playing the Carnegie Theatre and am pleased the show is going to take place further down the line.”
Original tickets will be valid and people will have the same seats for the rescheduled performance.
If people are unable to make the new date, they will be offered a refund.
The Carnegie said: “We are sorry we cannot bring this show to you tomorrow. We were all really looking forward to welcoming Francis to the Carnegie.
“We do however send our best wishes to him and look forward to welcoming him back to our venue soon.”
